Holding in your feelings too long can be like keeping a lid on a pressure cooker, eventually somethings got to give. When you bottled up emotions, they don't just disappear they can simmer under the surface causing stress and anxiety. Over time, this can lead to bigger health issues, like depression, sleep problems, or even heart disease. Plus, not dealing with your feelings can strain your relationships because you might lash out unexpectedly or withdraw from the people around you. Which shows why I ended up picking balloons as an example for it. As you can see, they progressively get bigger, those show the emotions, battles, feelings you're going through. And every emotion that you hold in, gets more difficult because instead of not expressing yourself you're hurting yourself by not communicating it with anybody. To relate this to the 1920's the idea of holding in your feelings for a long time can be connected to the societal norms and expectations of that era. The 1920s in the United States referred to as the ''Roaring twenties'' it was a time of significant social change, economic prosperity, and cultural transformation. It was also a time when certain emotions and personal struggles were often overlooked.
